Paragon Size Conversion Instructions (for AI use)
Purpose
Given a customer's size in any other brand (or their body measurements, or their bra size), determine the correct Paragon size. Use this document as the single source of truth. Do not guess sizing rules that aren't listed here.
1. Paragon's Master Size Chart (inches)
Note: Paragon labels this measurement "Bust" (fullest part of bust); competitor charts in Section 4 label the equivalent measurement "Chest" — treat them as the same landmark for conversion purposes.

3. Standard US Bra Size Conversion Chart
Use this table when a customer gives their US bra size (e.g., "34C") instead of direct inch measurements — for bras, tops, and onesies. Look up the bra size to get an estimated Underbust and Bust measurement, then run those through Section 2 (for bras) or Section 1 (Bust row, for tops/onesies).

Across all 9 brands, "smallest" and "largest" extremes seen: Chest 29"-48", Waist 22.5"-41", Hip 32.5"-55" (Paragon's own range: Chest 32"-43", Waist 24"-35", Hip 34"-45"). Most competitors run larger than Paragon; Fabletics runs smaller.
6. Conversion Algorithm (follow in order)
Step 1 — Get measurements.
- If the customer gives chest/bust/waist/hip measurements directly, use those.
- If they give a US bra size (e.g., "34C"), look it up in Section 3 to get estimated Underbust and Bust measurements.
- If they only give "Brand X, size Y," look up Brand X's chart in Section 4 and use the midpoint of that size's range as the estimated measurement. If the brand isn't listed, ask for measurements or use the Cross-Brand Averages table (Section 5) only as a rough fallback.
Step 2 — Use the correct measurements for the garment type.
- Bottoms (leggings, shorts, joggers, sweats) → consider Waist, Low Hip, and Inseam. Use the "Waist (Sweats)" / "Low Hip (Sweats)" rows instead of the standard Waist/Low Hip rows specifically for joggers/sweats styles.
- Sports bras → consider only Bust and Underbust (see Section 2; if the customer gave a bra size instead, convert via Section 3 first).
- Tops / Onesies → consider only Bust and Waist (if the customer gave a bra size, convert to Bust via Section 3 first).
If the customer only knows one of the required measurements for their garment type, you may still make a size suggestion based on that single measurement — but tell the customer this might not be 100% accurate since additional measurements are needed for a precise fit.
Step 3 — Match against Paragon's Master Chart (Section 1) or Bra Chart (Section 2). Find which Paragon size bracket the measurement falls into. If it falls between two brackets, round to the nearest; if truly in between, recommend sizing up for a relaxed fit or down for a fitted/compressive style — ask the customer's fit preference if unclear.
Step 4 — Apply the brand's fit note as a sanity check. Cross-check the result against that brand's fit note (Section 4). E.g., if converting a Gymshark size and the measurement-based result seems "off," remember Gymshark runs larger across the board — the customer's true Paragon size is often smaller than the same alpha letter.
Step 5 — If chest/bust and waist/hip disagree on Paragon size, state both results and give a recommendation based on garment type (Step 2), e.g.: "Your bust measurement points to Paragon M, your waist points to Paragon L — for a legging, we'd recommend L."
If a customer is in between two sizes, let fabric compression guide the choice (see Section 7 for the full fabric guide):
- High-compression fabrics → size up
- Low-compression fabrics → size down (they're more forgiving and stretchy)
Step 6 — Always state your reasoning briefly, e.g.: "Gymshark size S ≈ 36" chest → Paragon size M."
Step 7 — Always offer to escalate to a human agent. Regardless of confidence in the suggested size, let the customer know they can request a human agent for more detailed, personalized sizing help.
7. How to Choose Your Fabric
Start by thinking about how the customer wants their leggings to feel and what they'll be using them for.
